Italy-Days 26-27

La Festa S. Antonio

While I was in Solofra the town celebrated the feast of Saint Antonio.(S.Antonio Statue shown above.)

It was spectacular. For days the town had been putting up these arches of lights and finally when they were lit you could tell all that work was worth it.

The town celebrated Saint Antonio for three or more days. There were concerts, outdoor vendors and fireworks - even a children's ride right outside our house. (Above the view from my bedroom window at night during this time.)

On the last night of the festival, there was a very large fireworks show that lasted for almost four hours! It was the best fireworks I had seen in a long time. Unfortunately, it is extremely difficult to take photos of fireworks but I put one in the background to give you an idea..
